| dc.description.abstract | ABSRACT Background: For effective instrumental processing (cleaning, disinfect and sterilization) requires precise knowledge, attitude, practice and competent skills. Nurses should have basic knowledge and develop a positive attitude towards on instrumental processing (cleaning, disinfect and sterilization). More is known about the KAP on instrumental processing (cleaning, disinfect and sterilization). Nurses responsible for processing instruments follow all steps carefully to provide adequately cleaned and high-level disinfected or sterilized instruments for patient care. Objective: To examine the level of knowledge, attitude and practice of instrumental processing among nurses working in operating room at Saint Paul’s hospital millennium medical collage Addis Ababa Ethiopia, January, 2023. Method: Institution-based cross-sectional study was conducted among 116 nurses at Saint Paul’s hospital millennium medical college. The total sample sizes were allocated used non probability purposeful sampling technique was employed for the selection of study participants. Data were collected by using self-administered structured questionnaire and were checked, cleaned and entered into SPSS version 23.0 software for analysis. Result: The overall finding of the study revealed that nurses had good knowledge 83(71.5%), Positive attitude 78 (67.2%), and good practice 89 (76.7%) towards on instrumental processing. In operating room at Saint Paul’s hospital millennium medical college. Conclusion: The result of this study showed that nurses in working in operating room had good knowledge, practice and positive attitude on instrumental processing.
