associated with increased risk of maternal morbidity and mortality. Pregnancy complicating
eclampsia is a rare, however its life-threatening obstetrics complication and is associated with
increased risk of maternal morbidity and mortality. (14, 15) It is estimated that about 13% of
maternal mortality is associated with hypertensive disorders of pregnancy, particularly
eclampsia. Maternal mortality is a sensitive indicator of the status of women, their access to
health care and the adequacy of the health care system responding to their need. (16)

starting collecting the data, completeness of patients’ charts will be checked and pretest will be
done. Analysis of the dada will be done using SPSS of latest version and in the analysis process,
mid, median, mode and frequency distribution of variables will be worked out in order to
describe the variables.
ESTIMATED BUDGET: The study requires 24896 Birr and will be covered by the SPHMMC
