Abstract

Summary Background- pediatric eye diseases are one of the important reasons of medical consultation. Pattern of eye disease in children vary based on whether the children live in developing or developed countries. The most common eye disease encountered in children include infections of the eye and anterior adnexa, refractive errors, amblyopia and ocular trauma. Less common causes of ocular morbidity in children include pediatric glaucoma, cataract and uveitis. Methods- This study will be conducted in SPHMMC Ophthalmology OPD. It will be retrospective cross sectional descriptive study. Objective- the aim of this study is to determine the patterns of eye disease in children visiting SPHMMC OPD. Data will be collected with structured questionnaire and analysed by SPSS 21 Budget- the total cost of this study is estimated to be 1900 birr.
