| dc.description.abstract | Abstract Background Cervical spine is the most vulnerable portion of the spine to injury, due to its mobility and exposure. Collars were introduced to protect the spinal cord from further injury by immobilizing a potentially unstable spine. Cervical Collars have effectively become a hallmark of high-quality trauma care, and in many Emergency medical service (EMS) systems. Despite the importance of providers understanding on different parameters of C-collar, to the level of this search no published study was found regarding the knowledge of pre-hospital EMS’, in the study area. Objective: Assessment of Knowledge about cervical collars and associated factors among emergency medical service Providers at Pre hospital Settings in Addis Ababa Ethiopia 2021/22 Study Methods: Institutional based Descriptive cross-sectional study design was conducted at Addis Ababa Fire and Emergency Prevention and Rescue Commission, Ethiopian Red Cross Society Addis Ababa Branch, and Tebita ambulance. Since the total number of participants in those areas were very limited in number the study assumed it to be all inclusive. Bivariate and multivariate logistic regression analysis was utilized to assess the relationship between dependent and independent Result: A total of 191 prehospital health car professions were included in the study. Overall response rate was 189 (98.9%). Of them more than half 118(62.4%) were female. According to this study the overall cervical collar knowledge were found 108 (57.14%) poor knowledge and only 81(42.86%) have good knowledge. Prehospital professionals received training and Available of Guideline about cervical collar were significantly associated with knowledge of cervical collar. Conclusion: this study observes that most of prehospital professionals' knowledge of cervical collar was poor. The findings of this study revealed that a great emphasis has to be given in boosting the Knowledge of the professionals providing on job training and Guideline.
